Daniel Dorman — about me

Welcome!

I am an NIH IRACDA postdoctoral fellow at Johns Hopkins University in the Neuromedical Control Systems Lab, where I am developing computational models of human decision making by applying control theoretic approaches to human electrophysiological data.

I completed my PhD in neuroscience in 2021 from George Mason University under the mentorship of Dr. Kim (“Avrama”) Blackwell, where I investigated mechanisms that support goal-directed and habit-learning through synaptic plasticity at the single-cell level in spiny projection neurons of the striatum (input nucleus of the basal ganglia) by applying morphologically detailed biophysical computational modeling methods.
